Botswana is inarguably the best game destination in Africa, enjoying the highest concentration of wildlife. Sightings are almost guaranteed even in its off season! The second largest migration, the Zebra migration, happens here during the wet season.

Take a land, water, horse or air safari in Okovango, Linyanti or Duma in the dry season, to spot the big 5, including the White Rhino.

See the ‘Giants of Africa’ in this truly wild and remote park on the banks of the Limpopo River. The African Elephant, the Giraffe, the Eland, the Ostrich and the Kori Bustard are all heavyweight attractions, as is the iconic Baobab tree. The diverse landscape ranging from vast plains to marshlands also ensures that a variety of species are seen including the Aardwolf (or “earth wolf”), the Bat-Eared Fox, the African Wildcat, the Honey Badger, the Spotted Hyena and the Black-Backed Jackal. Botswana’s national bird the Lilac Breasted Roller is one of 350 birds seen here.

On the Namibian border, this park is where you get closest to nature and the wild. The wilderness camps are built deep inside, offering stunning views of the red Kalahari dunes. Spot the Springbok, Blue Wildebeest, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Meerkats, Leopards, and Black-Maned Lions. It’s a prime Cheetah destination and a haven for bird lovers as well.
